Mediation

In 2020, BSU introduced a short-cycle "Mediation" program under the EU-funded "MEDIATS" initiative, enhancing conflict resolution training. Additionally, the “Mediation Learning and Mock Process Center” was established within the same project. Located at the Faculty of Law and Social Sciences, this center provides both practical and theoretical mediation training. It serves as a hub for developing essential conflict resolution skills. BSU also organizes and co-organizes international conferences on mediation, fostering global dialogue and collaboration in conflict resolution.

  • Ketevan Devadze
    Project manager, Trainer
    She is a psychotherapist and school mediator who lectures in psychology and mediation at Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University (BSU), Georgia. She actively contributes to research projects and has numerous publications on diverse psychological and mediation topics.
    Katevan has played a pivotal role as a manager and teacher in the EU-funded program MEDIATS (Mediation: Training and Society Transformation). Together with the BSU team, she developed the mediation program at BSU, enhancing the university's capabilities in conflict resolution education.


  • Levan Jakeli
    Facilitator
    He is a professor and the dean of the Faculty of Law and Social Sciences at BSU. He is an international mediator and lawyer, known for his scientific articles in the fields of law and mediation.
    Levan has been leading the educational quality management group for years, ensuring high standards in academic programs. Since 2016, he has been actively involved in EU institutional development projects, such as "Promoting Quality and Recognition of Transnational Education in Armenia and Georgia" and "Mediation, Training and Society Transformation (MEDIATS)." His work in these projects has significantly contributed to the development and recognition of educational quality and mediation programs at BSU.
  • Nino Devadze
    Trainer
    She is an Assistant Professor with a PhD in Business Administration at BSU. She has published numerous scientific articles in both local and international journals and has participated in many international conferences and training courses.
    Nino is a skilled trainer and facilitator who graduated from the mediation study program. She has extensive experience in international teaching exchange and training, she is also an expert in e-learning, adept at designing and implementing online education programs that enhance learning accessibility and effectiveness.
    Currently, Nino is involved in the Erasmus+ CBHE project MOVEx, where she contributes to the development and implementation of virtual exchange programs.
